Cisco Serial Cables the end on the light-blue console cable

Now in addition to all the standard Cisco Serial Cables I am carrying around I have added a mini USB cable to the mix. My console cable bag is growing larger, but this is a standard cable that many of us carry with us anyway. Overtime, we may stop carrying the old clunky serial cables with DB-9 and USB to serial converters. I am all in favor of anything that makes the job easier.I am hoping that this new method continues to be spread to other devices. I also hope that Cisco will enable all of the USB Type-A ports on their other devices for similar connectivity. For years I have hauled around two console cable sets. Because I often connect to multiple devices at the same time, such as redundant supervisors on 6500s or to two supervisors in redundant 6500s or VSS, I need two Cisco Serial Cables. Here is a picture of one of my typical USB cables. I use a Keyspan USA-19HS USB to serial adapter.

SDH SFP only product on the market enabling

We will present TransPacket´s unique technology for optical Ethernet transport with extremely low and fixed latency. Learn how to design an optimal network with the TransPacket H1 to satisfy QoS requirements previously only available in TDM-based networks, and at the same time leverage all the benefits of packet based networks. The products offer significant value for applications within mobile infrastructure, energy and utility markets, transport, data centres and trading. The FUSION Networking product H1 is the only product on the market enabling Ethernet end-to-end network transport with the performance known from OTN and legacy SONET/SDH systems: Zero packet loss, low latency, and ultra-low packet delay variation. We're a leading manufacturer of network access equipment for data and Fiber communications. Our wide Cisco SDH SFP Transceiver and reliability decrease after-sale cost; customized product design gives our products the privilege of low cost and strong competitiveness. lines are able to span multiple applications with its excellent technology advantage. We mainly offer ethernet converters, protocol converters, multiplexers, media converters, digital video optical transceivers. Considering partners as the first tier of Inmidas’ customer supports, we provide them all-sided supports to help them explore, occupy the local markets.

Extending the interconnect reach of MiniSAS Cables

A new line of MiniSAS Cables assemblies comes in the form of high-performance, cost-effective cabling solutions for high-speed serial buses supporting 4X Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) architectures. The copper cables from Tyco Electronics are designed to be fully compliant with 3 Gbit/s SAS and 6 Gbit/s SAS protocols. Target product applications include mass storage systems, storage area networks and switches, servers and routers. We are very proud of our company’s leadership in developing the silicon for new active MiniSAS (External / Internal)  technology that now has culminated in successful interoperability demonstrations of active cable interconnects, said Gourgen Oganessyan, Strategic Marketing Manager and Quellan’s representative at the T10 Physical Working Group. Extending the interconnect reach of 10 meters specified by the current standard by a factor of over two removed a severe limitation in the operation of today’s datacenters, while retaining complete backward compatibility with existing passive interconnects.

The MiniSAS Cables builders using the 6 Gbit/s SAS technology

10X the length of a 2 meter assive cable.Quellan, Inc., in analog signal processing and RF noise cancellation ICs, announced the availability of a portfolio of 6Gbps SAS products including MiniSAS Cables, active cable modules, based on its production QLx4600 Lane Extender IC. The company has previously validated the performance of the mini-SAS cables activated by its revolutionary Q:Active  analog lane extender technology at several private and public testing events, most recently at the SAS Plugfest conducted on November 10–14, 2008 at the University of New Hampshire Interoperability lab.

Tyco tested its standard External MiniSAS Cable 12M for $199.00 and raised the bar by also testing longer length cables (30 AWG at 5.5m, 28 AWG at 7m and 26 AWG at 8.5m) with 6 Gbit/s SAS signaling speeds—demonstrating its wide breadth of customized cable assembly solutions.
Final test results concluded that no bit errors were detected, which indicates that Tyco MiniSAS Cables perform without dropped data for system builders using the 6 Gbit/s SAS technology. Prior to the event, internal S-parameter and near-end-crosstalk tests were conducted on the cable assemblies to meet the requirements for 6 Gbit/s SAS specifications.

QSFP+ port cages for systems and adapters

Molex's QSFP+ transceiver can replace up to 4 standard SFP+ transceivers. The result is greater port density and overall system cost savings over traditional SFP+ products. Molex's QSFP+ cable assemblies are designed to accommodate stacked and ganged connector configurations in extremely high-density requirements. This system will support 10G Ethernet, Fibre Channel, InfiniBand, SAS and SONET/SDH standards with different data rate options.Molex’s low-power AOC integrated cable solutions provide less expensive, reliable transport for aggregated data rates up to 40 Gbps.
Mellanox’s solution is being offered in three different options: one QSFP port, six QSFP ports, six QSFP-H40G-CU3M – Compatible Cisco 40GbE QSFP+ QDR Direct-Attach Copper Cable 3ml ports with light pipes. The QSFP+ cages are designed for different markets and applications including hubs, switching, routers and adapters. The Mellanox QSFP+ cages are part of the end-to-end solution that Mellanox offers, allowing you create the optimal system using the Mellanox Silicon IC device and building the best planned data centers with Mellanox Cables and Modules and Mellanox systems and Adapters. The QSFP+ DAC / AOC / Transceivers port cages are being offered in three different options: one single QSFP+ cage, line of six port cages with and without light pipes.
